Rio Grande Turkey Hunts

TEXAS TURKEY TALK

The largest game birds in North America await you for the
WILD TURKEY GRAND SLAM.

The Grand Slam consists of harvesting the four subspecies of wild turkeys found in the United States. There are 4 challenging subspecies of the wild turkey.

  • EASTERN WILD TURKEY
  • MERRIAM'S WILD TURKEY
  • FLORIDA (OSCEOLA) WILD TURKEY
  • RIO GRANDE WILD TURKEY

The Eastern can be found generally east of the Mississippi River. Merriam's are farther west and the Osceola is in Florida. The Rio Grande is located in the southwest.

The turkey's 300 degree field of vision and their excellent sense of hearing will make this no easy hunt. The survival skill of the wild turkey are part of the reason that they are famous for providing hunters with exciting hunts packed with lots of gobbling.
